Moreover, we focus heavily on encouraging internal promotions and development, advertising vacant positions internally before opening to the wider market, and promoting 8% of the workforce in the 2020/21 financial year.
The views and feedback of our team helps inform and drive the leadership of the business, with our annual employee survey and subsequent follow-up roadshow forming a critical feedback function on the direction of our operations. In the most recent survey, 86.5% of employees participated with 81% of the workforce showing strong approval of the leadership of the Company, an increase of 21% on the prior year. Almost 70% would recommend Sirius as an employer, an increase of 13% on 2019. 84%, an increase of 12%, think that positive changes have been implemented since the last survey.
